Somewhere between shopping on
Delancey, brunch
at Elaines, and sipping White Cosmos at the
Soho Grande, Manhattan hipsters get primped
and polished with falls most coveted colours.

"This seasons
authentic antique colours were inspired by the fashion capital of the world, Manhattan.
From the hip lower east side, to the buzz of Times Square and beloved Soho, the palette
includes a variety of rich, elegant colours and sophisticated classics. Glamorous in flavor, they perfectly complement the feminine,
modern classic looks seen on the runways of Paris and New York."

We can all help
Essie in the
battle against breast cancer
Breast cancer continues to rob
women of their health, their productivity, and their very lives. It robs families of
mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, wives, and partners. In 2001 alone, an estimated
192,200 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, and more than 40,200 women
will be lost to this disease. Breast cancer strikes women of all ages, races, ethnicities,
socioeconomic strata, and geographic locales; however, older women, African Americans, the
poor, and others with limited health care access are disproportionately affected. Male
breast cancer, because of its rarity, is most often treated according to the lessons
learned from studying the disease in women.
Essie and we at BeautyRealm are
dedicated to finding a cure
for breast cancer so our daughters and granddaughters won't ever have to struggle with
this disease. It will take the resources of every person to reach that goal. Together, we
will find a cure.
When you purchase a bottle of "Pretty in Pink", the
nail polish color designated for the cause, Essie Cosmetics will donated $1 toward the
fight against breast cancer.

What a Fashion Season!

For Fall/Winter 2003, nails are an important
beauty focus, with nail color setting the stage for a
fabulous fashion season of both rich and soft color, sumptuous fabrics and fresh new
combinations! The British Collection by OPI complements the
season's fresh new looks with colors ranging from bold, deep, Big City reds to softer,
more heathered purples and pinks - shades that capture the excitement of London and the
softness of the English countryside!
The style buzz in fabulous, fashionable London this season is a new direction in
color and shape. City-savvy jackets and pants in traditional "menswear"
fabrics, including wool pinstripes and tartan plaids, are softened by the contrast of
"touchable luxury" in velvets, fluid stone-washed satin, cashmere and buttery
soft leather. Color choices include black and blackened shades of gray, navy, wine and
olive, contrasted with lighter spring-like tones of mint, dusty pink and misty lavender,
the color of Scotland's heathery fields!
The mod mini skirt - born in London! - is big this season, teamed with
skinny turtleneck sweaters and go-go boots or worn with fitted, braod-shouldered jackets.
For the trouser crowd, hip huggers from pencil thin to to cargo style make a showing, as
well as high-waisted pants cinched with a chunky belt. Watch for opulent shades of warm
red and rich brown softened by golden moss, camel and soft plums and berries.
