A NEW perspective on COLOR from OPI

Beauty and fashion trends for Spring and Summer 2005 reflect not one personality but several, combining to offer a range of attitudes and shades of feeling -- the romance of centuries past; fresh, vibrant energy; contemporary chic; and party girl. The palette which captures these trends is reflected in the Japanese Collection by OPI, a mixture of ancient past, techno present and brilliant future.

Romance from the Past

From ancient Greek and Rome to 19th century Paris, the historical romantic trend celebrates colors that glow with an antiqued patina of the past -- faded yellows, pinks and gold with a counterpoint of gentled blues and greens, all complemented by a darker background. Make-up reflects this past with romantic tones of charcoal and sepia applied in soft strokes. Antique motifs and patterns are seen onnails, while goddess-type hair styles adorned with jewels and flowers crown the look. Fresh Energy

Brilliant, graphic colors exemplify this trend with a grafitti-like freshness and zeal. Look for color used in blocks, stripes, circles and more -- simple patterns made bold by shades of bright raspberry, lime and red, complemented by clear tones of yellow, turquoise and lilac, and accented by a touch of black. Make-up trends follow these graphic lines with a stylized application including colored mascaras, while nails feature bold, clear stripes of color. Hair echoes this striped colored theme for those who are daring; otherwise, colorful hair accessories bring this trend home. Tropical heat, exotic rhythms, the colors of the night -- these are the colors of the Party Nights trend.
